The allocation of the tickets to 19 candidates by AAP high command has left the AAP Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur angry against the senior leadership. The party ignored the name of Chhotepur in the first list released by AAP leaders in his absence.
Chhotepur had questioned the party leadership on few names in the first list. However, he ruled out any possibility of quitting the party. He has cleverly maintained a stand that he would always remain a loyal worker of the party.
However, Chhotepur did not name the candidates and he said that he would take up the issue with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. One of the ticket contenders he supported was Hardeep Singh Kingra from Faridkot.
Kingra resigned on the same day when the party officially released the list. The former IFS officer levelled allegations against the party leadership for ignoring the leaders of Punjab. Moreover, Kingra said that the state unit is being run by the AAP Delhi leaders and they never ask the Punjab leaders while taking decisions.
It is unfortunate for a party in which a state convener is being ignored while the allocation of tickets for the assembly seats. It revealed the plight of the party in Punjab.
The suspended parliamentarians, Dharamvir Gandhi and Harinder Khalsa also told that the party is being run by AAP supremo and his aide Sisodia and Sanjay Singh. There is no place for the leaders who raise their voice against the decision of party high command.
It is evident that the party’s two prominent founder members Prashant Bhushan and Yogender Yadav were expelled from the party because they had raised their voice against Arvind Kejriwal.
