Nawazuddin Siddiqui Pulls Out Of Ramlila To “Maintain Peace” In His Village

Powerhouse performer Nawazuddin Siddiqui  is facing opposition from Shiv Sena in his home district Muzaffarnagar. He had to cancel his performance in the local Ramlila after a protest by a unit of Shiv Sena there. The political party was not happy with his involvement in the local show of the much loved mythological drama. This is due to a FIR filed by his sister-in-law against him and his family members of abuse and harassment.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is at present in his native village Budhana, Muzaffarnagar. He was approached by the local Ramlila committee to do a role of Marich(A demon who played a major role in the kidnapping of Sita by Ravan). The actor accepted the offer and even rehearsed for his role.

Sources said that the local unit of the Shiv Sena protested saying that the actor is allegedly involved for beating his younger brother’s wife. They conveyed their displeasure to the committee over the ‘Freaky Ali’ actor taking part in the local Ramlila. The party elaborated that they will not let Nawaz participate. Therefore the organizers decided to cancel the show.

Nawauddin Siddiqui and his family members have been named in a dowry harassment case by his younger brothers wife. The actor is at present in his hometown to solve the issue.

Further the organizers had to cancel the program after the activists approached them and expressed their displeasure over Nawazuddin’s participation.

Nawazuddin did not comment on the people opposing his appearance on the stage, saying he had to cancel his appearance to “maintain peace” in the village. However, he did end up promising his beloved fan to return back the next year.
