In the messages of Arvind Kejriwal on social media, it was pointed that Sidhu met Kejriwal and held meetings. However, the demand of Sidhu for CM candidature was not accepted by AAP national convener. The reason is very clear – Kejriwal himself fence the chances of being CM of Punjab.
The political atmosphere of AAP Punjab heated up when there were rumours that Sidhu would be declared the CM face of the party for Punjab polls. When the news hit the headlines, the AAP Punjab leaders started shouting over the candidature of Sidhu as party’s CM face.
In AAP Punjab unit, there is no such leader who could pull the crowds and lead the party in the assembly polls. Even the survey reports published in media had revealed that the people are hardly interested in the AAP Punjab leaders for the CM face of the party.
Moreover, there is an internal difference rising within the senior leadership of AAP Punjab over the issue of CM candidature. The AAP Punjab convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur’s name was not on the two lists released by the party leaders. Even the lists released to the media in the absence of Chhotepur.
Chhotepur has shown his resentment and he was countered by his own party leader Harjot Singh Bains, the AAP youth wing president who tried to teach politics to the AAP Punjab convenor.
However, it is crystal clear that Kejriwal himself would hold the reins of AAP Punjab and he would be the CM face of the party as well in the assembly polls. The AAP supremo has already appointed the heads for the other states where assembly polls are scheduled next year.
All Delhi leaders are assigned their duties for Goa and Gujrat. The AAP supremo would take the command of Punjab in his hands.
