You know those super happy couples practically skipping down the street holding hands, having the best time of their lives. Couples who always seem to be smiling in each others’ company, even after years of being together, may sometimes baffle everyone. But what most people don’t realise is that every relationship takes a little bit of intentional effort, even if it’s about the small things. But no one is happy all the time. Happy couples also have fights, but they don’t make that become the central point of their relationship. Trying to make each other happier, and being happy together, is always their priority. But there are some habits that the happiest of couples do have, and it’s never too late to adopt them in your own relationship
Pay them at least one genuine compliment.
Spend at least an hour together without looking at your phones.
Surprise them with their favourite food.
Make them smile.
Tell them what you love about them.
Maybe it’s the way they look at you, or some random quirk about them that you really adore.
Send them a random text.
In the middle of the day, when they wouldn’t even expect it.
Cuddle with them.
Hold their hand randomly.
Probably while both of you are watching a TV show or movie.
Enjoy being silent together.
While you both do your own thing, sitting in silence.
Let them have their “me time.”
Because happiness lies in the little things in life.
