Vishal Dadlani of famed music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar has decided to quit from political work after the outrage over tweet. Not that he was playing any active role in politics but this development holds significance as he was one of most ardent & vociferous voice behind AAP movement and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
An active supporter of AAP’s ideology, Dadlani had been a star campaigner for the party during the Delhi polls. He had also composed the party’s famous election song, ‘Paanch Saal Kejriwal’. Very recently, he went on to host much-hyped interactive programme of Arvind Kejriwal – ‘Talk to AK’.
In this digital age, Dadlani was the most vocal supporter of Delhi CM who wasted no time in echoing Kejriwal’s political attacks on twitter. Whether it was Prime Minister Narendra ModI, RSS or any political outfit, Dadlani was the first person to resort to Twitter to support Kejriwal’s personal attacks.
It was all going smoothly until, Dadlani faced barrage of criticism over a tweet. Dadlani mocked the Jain saint, Tarun Sagar who had addressed the Haryana assembly. Later he deleted the tweet but the condemnation of the tweet spiralled and he was even trended on Twitter for few hours. Even his ideal in politics, Arvind Kejriwal took to twitter to condemn his act.
Currently, AAP is seriously contemplating contesting Gujrat assembly elections and Gujrat has sizeable population of Jains. Making a strong reason for Kejriwal not to offend influential Jain community in Gujrat. Further, even a case was filed against the 43 years old music composer for his controversial tweet.
Deeply disillusioned by politics and disowned by his own flock, Dadlani decided to bid adieu to politics. But this move raises serious questions on the type of politics being followed by Arvind Kejriwal and his party.
Starting from Anna Hazare’s “India Agaiant Corruption movement”, Kejriwal has the tendency to follow “use and throw” policy. Kejriwal went on to float a political outfit against the wishes of Anna and later he even dumped the founding members Prashnat Bhushan and Yogender Yadav.
Dadlani is one of the biggest names in today’s Bollywood music industry. Despite his busy schedule, Dadlani devote his time & energy to party’s cause. Like other ousted leaders, perhaps even Dadlani followed Kejriwal blindly and failed to read his dubious intentions.
